General Medicine

General medicine deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all types of diseases and disease prevention.Our medical services:

1. Laboratory diagnosis

Laboratory diagnostics deals with the examination of body fluids and tissues. Various laboratory tests:

- Blood test
- Urine test / Micral test for diabetics
- Electrolytes, enzymes, blood fats
- Blood coagulation tests
- Hematological tests
- Serological-immunological test methods
- Genetic and biotechnical test methods

2. Examinations using an electrocardiogram (ECG)

An electrocardiogram is used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. The so-called heart action is recorded via electrodes and in the form of curves. The doctor can use these to assess whether the heart is functioning properly.

3. Ultrasound examinations

4. Oral glucose tolerance test

The oral glucose tolerance test (oGTT for short) is used to detect impaired glucose utilization and for the early diagnosis of diabetes mellitus.

5. Psychosomatic interventions

Psychosomatic intervention deals with the interaction between psyche and body.

6. Youth occupational health and safety investigations

According to Section 32 of the Youth Employment Protection Act, the initial examination is intended to ensure that the young person does not have any health impairments before entering working life that could be aggravated by the work.

7. DMP (Disease Management Program)

DMPs are structured treatment programs for chronically ill people.

Chronic illnesses include:

- Asthma = chronic inflammation of the airways
- COPD = chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- CHD (coronary heart disease) = caused by narrowed
coronary arteries, which leads to
reduced blood flow to the heart
- Diabetes (diabetes) = chronic metabolic disease

8. Health examinations

Early detection tests can identify risks early, so that, ideally, symptoms do not arise in the first place.
from 18 years of age
once between the ages of 18 and 35:
- anamnesis (collection of medical history)
- physical examination
- check of blood lipid levels and blood sugar
- check of urine
- advice on the test results

from 35 years of age
every three years:
- anamnesis (collection of medical history)
- physical examination
- check of blood lipid levels and blood sugar
- check of urine
- advice on the test results

9. Skin cancer screening

Skin cancer screening is a preventive examination and is used for the early detection of risk factors and the precursors of skin cancer.
 

from 35 years of age
every two years
- Anamnesis (collection of medical history)
- Examination of the entire skin
- Advice on the examination results

10. Cancer prevention (early cancer detection)

Examination for the early detection of cancer. Most malignant tumors detected and treated early have a better prognosis and a higher chance of cure. Colon cancer

from 50 years:
- advice on the colon cancer early detection program
- for women:
- 50 to 54 years: annual test for invisible
(occult) blood in the stool
- for men:
- 50 to 54 years: optional annual test for invisible
(occult) blood in the stool
- or from 50 years: two colonoscopies at
a minimum interval of ten years

from 55 years:
- optional test for invisible
(occult) blood in the stool every two years or two colonoscopies at
a minimum interval of ten years

11. Vaccination advice

Vaccinations are an essential part of preventive medicine. Due to the current situation and all the associated changes in modern times, vaccination protection is particularly important. Our competent team is always available to answer general questions about vaccinations and travel medicine.
 

Vaccinations for babies and toddlers:
 

Rotaviruses, tetanus (lockjaw, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), poliomyelitis (polio), Haemophilus influenzae B (HiB), hepatitis B, pneumococcus (pneumonia), measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), meningitis (meningitis)
 

Vaccinations for children and young people:
 

Tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis booster, vaccination against human papilloviruses (HPV) cervical cancer

Vaccinations for adults:
 

Tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis/pneumococcus booster, vaccinations against herpes zoster (shingles), influenza (flu)
 

Travel medicine:
 

The plans are made, the trip to the most beautiful place in the world is booked? Have your vaccination record checked for gaps check!

Travel vaccinations are already useful for common destinations. For trips to Africa, Asia or South America, prior travel medical advice is strongly recommended, as the risk of infection there should not be underestimated and you may even be denied entry in some cases.
